Biography, scientific achievements

Comprehensive ecological and physiological studies of adaptation and reproduction of plants in cold climates have been carried out. The regularities and mechanisms of realization of photosynthetic potential of various species and ecological groups of plants in the European North-East of Russia are revealed. A significant contribution has been made to the development of fundamental issues of physiology, ecology and energy of plant respiration in the North. Theoretically and experimentally analyzed the prospects for the use of ecological and physiological approaches in biomonitoring, to assess the biotransformation of ecosystems, the development of methods of phytoremediation.
